Records fall on Clinton Raceway’s 2021 season finale

Two-year-old pacing colt Sports Fan lowered the track record in the fourth of five $21,450 Grassroots divisions and fans wagered an all-time high $132,279 on the card, which featured the 41st annual Charity Driver’s Challenge, won by Trevor Henry. Henry captured three of the eight challenge races and finished with 200 points, well ahead of Bob McClure and Clinton Raceway’s leading driver Natasha Day, who had 114 and 110 points respectively.

Fans back for the 6th annual Vic Hayter Memorial

CLINTON — Greg Hayter said the 6th anniversary of the Vic Hayter Memorial at Clinton Raceway was moved a couple of weeks forward to Aug. 8 this year in the hope government COVID-19 restrictions would be lifted enough so fans could be in attendance for the $15,000 race. The plan appears to have worked.

Legends Day historically has welcomed thousands of fans to see harness racing legends battle on the Huron County oval and raise tens of thousands of dollars for the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation.
